Noxilizer wins best life sciences company award

Noxilizer, located at the UMBC Technology Center, won Best Life Sciences Company in the Maryland Incubator Company of the Year awards. The award, announced at the Center Club June 14, recognizes the best company involved in biotechnolgy or life sciences industry.

Chosen among three finalists, Noxilizer has a unique and superior NO2-based sterilization technology that is revolutionizing two major sterilization markets – medical device/pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing and hospitals, according to the award Web site. In the manufacturing market, Noxilizer provides sterilization services for next generation medical devices and drug/device combination products. Noxilizer also sells the RTS 360 NO2 Industrial Sterilizer to companies that sterilize their own products. In hospitals, Noxilizer is developing a system especially for the sensitive, high-tech equipment used in minimally-invasive surgical procedures. The company was founded in 2004 and is privately held. Noxilizer is located at the University of Maryland Baltimore County Technology Center in Baltimore, Md.

Saul Ewing LLP, McGladrey LLP and Maryland TEDCO founded the awards in 2004, which recognizes achievements by current clients and graduates of Maryland incubators and provides a forum for the nominees to increase their visibility in the business, technology and investment communities.
