Obama nominates GBC task force co-chair Ferro as federal trucking safety administrator

Anne Ferro, president of the Maryland Motor Truck Association, has been nominated by President Barack Obama as the next Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator.

Ferro, a former administrator of Maryland’s Motor Vehicle Administration, is currently co-chairing the Greater Baltimore Committee’s private-sector task force that is developing recommendations for a long-term plan to strengthen fuunding and management of Maryland’s transportation resources.

“This nomination demonstrates Anne’s stature, both in Maryland and nationally, as an accomplished transportation policy manager,” said Donald C. Fry, president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee. “Congratulations to Anne for being named to take on this important federal assignment.”
