Opportunity Collaborative hosts workforce development study release event

The Opportunity Collaborative and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond invite business leaders and members of the business community to the release Baltimore Regional Talent Development Pipeline Study.

On Wednesday, October 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on 502 South Sharp Street, Baltimore, Md., 21201, Chris Seals of RDA Global Business Market Research will present the study followed by a panel discussion of the results. Lunch will be provided.

The Regional Talent Development Pipeline Study is the first step of the Opportunity Collaborative’s Regional Workfroce Development Plan. The study builds upon the work of the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board’s 2010 Talent Development Pipeline Study (TDPS). In the study, the Collaborative analyzed the gaps between the region’s workforce training opportunities and the projected employment opportunities in significant regional employment sectors.

Next steps in the plan will be an assessment of barriers to employment opportunity and career pathways mapping for key regional employment sectors. Work began on the planning process in February 2013. The plan is scheduled to be published in spring 2014.

The release event and explanation of study results is free and open to the public, but registration is required by October 28.

The Opportunity Collaborative is staffed and coordinated by the Baltimore Metropolitan Council.
