Paul A. Tiburzi elected Chair of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Board of Directors

Paul A. Tiburzi, Senior Partner at DLA Piper and Vice Chair of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Board of Directors, has been elected Chairman of the business organization’s board.

Tiburzi’s December 8 election by the GBC’s Board fills the seat vacated by Stephanie C. Hill, Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy & Business Development for Lockheed Martin. Hill, who was promoted by Lockheed Martin to her current position in September, chose to step down from the GBC Chair position due to the increased responsibilities of her new job at the defense contractor.

Hill was first elected Chair of the GBC’s Board in November, 2015. She was re-elected as Chair in May, 2017. Tiburzi will fulfill the remainder of Hill’s current term, which was set to expire in May, 2018. He becomes the 33rd Chair of the GBC Board in its 62 year history.

“Stephanie Hill is a tremendous leader and the GBC has benefited a great deal from her tenure as Chair,” Tiburzi said. “The entire GBC is grateful for her leadership and inspiration.”

“I’m looking forward to working with the entire Board to bring private sector ideas and solutions to the pressing problems facing the city and region,” Tiburzi said. “I’m also looking forward to ensuring we leverage the many positive assets the Greater Baltimore region offers so it remains highly attractive to business and creates opportunities for all employers and residents.”

GBC President and CEO Donald C. Fry said Tiburzi will bring fresh ideas and energy to the GBC.

“Paul Tiburzi has an incredibly sharp mind and a commitment to the Baltimore region. He will ensure the GBC remains a powerful source for new ideas and an ally that fosters positive lasting change for not just business and government, but communities throughout the region too,” Fry said.
