Pennoni Associates’ Bridge and Underwater Inspection Practice has acquired a high-tech Professional Engineering Dive Boat; in which they have christened it the Pennoni Inspector II. This boat, a 26′ aluminum v-hull workboat, has been added to the arsenal of tools Pennoni’s Transportation Technology uses to perform underwater inspections on bridges that span waterways throughout the country.
To celebrate the arrival of the Pennoni Inspector II, Pennoni hosted an official boat launch Sept. 11, 2009. The boat launch ceremony included the christening of the boat by Sandi Bartolomeo, the boat’s sponsor, a speech by Tony Bartolomeo, Pennoni president and CEO, and a blessing for the dive team which includes Dave Mrowiec, P.E., Joe Challburg, E.I.T., and Mike Scorpa, CBSI. The Pennoni team was joined by family, friends, colleagues and several representatives from other firms in the Baltimore region. Jeff Clark, from Workskiff, who designed and built the boat, was on hand during the boat tour. Light lunch and networking were also part of the day’s festivities.
