RCM&D’s Harry C. Wallace named power broker by Risk & Insurance Magazine

Risk & Insurance magazine, one of the leading publications in the risk management industry, named Harry C. Wallace of Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downes, Inc. as a Power Broker in their annual list of the most influential commercial insurance brokers in the United States.

In addition, Wallace was one of the inaugural recipients of Risk & Insurance’s Responsibility Leader Award for going above and beyond his day-to-day responsibilities to help his clients, his company and the broader life science community in Maryland.

Risk & Insurance recognized 144 Power Brokers in 25 industry categories. Wallace was honored in the Pharmaceutical/Life Science sector.

Power Broker honorees were selected from over 2,500 nominations provided by brokers and judged by a separate panel of 300 risk managers. Judging was based primarily on each nominee’s demonstrated knowledge of their particular industry group, creativity in solving risk-related problems and level of client service.

”We offer our congratulations to Harry again this year on this honor and for the work he has done to continue to develop our Life Science Group in spite of a challenging market,” said Robert T. Cawley, President of RCM&D. “Harry and his team continue to be innovators, offering clients something beyond the typical transactional insurance placement protocol and acting as an outsourced risk management department.”

“We are particularly pleased Harry was recognized as a Responsibility Leader by Risk & Insurance,” Cawley said. “He has been a devoted advocate for the Life Science community on a state and national level and has done a lot of work personally to help connect clients, colleagues and friends to opportunities in the industry.”

Wallace is a senior vice president and Life Science practice leader with RCM&D and was presented with the Power Broker designation previously in 2009.

“While it is an honor to be recognized by Risk & Insurance, much of the credit for this award goes to the Life Science team at RCM&D,” said Wallace. “I am grateful for their expertise, dedication to client service and passion for providing innovate risk, insurance and benefit solutions to organizations in the Life Science industry.”
