Duane Pinnix, President and CEO of RMF Engineering, announced March 6, 2018 the opening of the firm’s new office in Sarasota, Fla. at Lakewood Ranch. Underscoring RMF’s commitment to the southeast region, Pinnix says the Sarasota office is part of the firm’s ongoing expansion in the southern states. Directed by Pinnix, the new location services regional clients with engineering and commissioning needs across several markets, with a particular focus on healthcare, higher education, federal government and mission critical environments.
“We’ve had our eye on Florida for some time, having seen rapid growth in the state over the years — particularly in healthcare and higher ed, which are two of our primary industries of focus,” Pinnix said. “We knew we had the industry expertise, skills and resources to add true value to the market. This new office will allow us to better serve our existing Florida-based clients and further grow our presence throughout the state and the southeast region.”
Over the last 25 years RMF has built a significant presence in the southeast, with offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Salisbury, Maryland; Charlotte, North Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina; Charlottesville, Virginia; Williamsburg, Virginia and now Sarasota, Florida. The Florida office will initially focus on providing engineering and commissioning services but will eventually expand into a full-service office.
A top-ranked MEP firm, RMF has been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as a Top 500 Design Firm, Building Design + Construction Magazine as one of the nation’s top “Giants 300” engineering firms and Consulting-Specifying-Engineer as an “MEP Giant.” One of only 40 firms in the United States to have earned the Certified Commissioning Firm (CCF) designation through the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA), RMF has also been recognized by Consulting Specifying-Engineer as one of the nation’s top 25 “Commissioning Giants” three years in a row.
