Ron Shapiro shared new book’s ‘Power of Preparation’ tips with GBC members

A day after the release of his new book, “Dare to Prepare: How to Win Before you Lose,” attorney and author Ron Shapiro outlined his “power of preparation” strategy at the Greater Baltimore Committee’s first event of its 2008 Speaker series on January 9.

In his new book, released on January 8, Shapiro uses his own experiences as an attorney, agent, consultant, and master negotiator, as well as first-hand accounts of the work habits of 38 successful individuals, to illustrate how to become a preparation expert.

More than a dozen people with Baltimore-area ties are among the “master preparers” profiled in Shapiro’s book including: Steve Battista, vice president of marketing for Under Armour; Steve Bisciotti, founder of the Allegis Group and owner of the Baltimore Ravens; Dr. Benjamin Carson, director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital; Bill Miller, acclaimed investment advisor and fund manager at Legg Mason; Joe Ehrmann, a minister, coach, and former Baltimore Colts star; Mayo Shattuck, chairman and CEO of Constellation Energy Group, and Gerald Brooks, a Baltimore County police detective and hostage negotiator.
