RSM has released its fourth annual RSM US Middle Market Business Index Cybersecurity Special Report, produced in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s report analyzes the various cybersecurity threats to the middle market and how many types of attacks have reached record highs in the last year.
It also looks at how the middle market is taking measures to respond to increased threats.
The report delivers insights and benchmarking opportunities related to several common risks, including information and data security, ransomware, social engineering and emerging data privacy legislation. Additionally, it provides key perspectives into potential cybersecurity solutions such as cyber insurance and moving data, systems and applications to the cloud.
According to first quarter 2021 MMBI data, 28% of middle market C-suite executives said their companies experienced a data breach in the last year, the highest level since RSM began tracking data in 2015 and a sharp rise from 18% last year.
