Golfers looking to score low on the course will score high with students at Capitol College’s 3rd Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Sept. 10. Every year, the tournament raises funds to support the growing needs of students and ensure their financial support annually through scholarships.
This year’s tournament, held at Patuxent Greens Golf Club in Laurel, Md., provides a terrific opportunity for team building, networking, and most importantly, fund-raising in the name of our students. Local businesses and friends of the college are encouraged to support hard-working students in their backyard while networking on the links.
“Individual and corporate participation and sponsorship supports students as they are involved in rewarding college experiences,” says Dr. Michael G. Gibbs, vice president for advancement. “The funds this tournament raises can change the life of a future inspirational and innovative leader; it could allow them to become the first in their family to attend college and earn a degree and ensure that they are not the last.”
Funds raised at the tournament have increased steadily over the past few years; past sponsors include SAIC, Patuxent Insurance Group, Manekin Construction, Echo, Eaton Aerospace, and RCM&D.
Join current students, friends, alumni, faculty and staff of Capitol College to sink putts for a great cause. Playing costs include continental breakfast, lunch, awards ceremony, beverages on course, greens fees, carts, range balls, golf shirt, and a sleeve of balls.
