“President Biden’s support for the Frederick Douglass Tunnel project underscores the significance of this infrastructure investment. In addition to modernizing a critical portion of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, this project will increase capacity for both passenger and freight transit, bolster the connectivity between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and create roughly 30,000 jobs in the heart of our city. The Greater Baltimore Committee will continue to work with the Greater Washington Partnership, regional and state leaders, and advocates to deliver a more equitable transportation system and maximize the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’s local impact.”
