“The GBC has been behind supportive of revitalizing Penn Station as an important economic development project forward for years,” said Greater Baltimore Committee President and CEO Donald C. Fry. “We commend Amtrak for taking this key step. We are also pleased to see a strong local presence and expertise on the group selected.
Penn Station is overdue for a major update. It is a gateway to the city and can be a tremendous asset for mid-town. Also, innovative development of the adjacent land has the potential to turn the entire emerging area into a magnet for new economic, cultural and social activity – and jobs.
The GBC looks forward to working with city officials and others to advance this important project.”
