Bill Pisano, director of branch operations, Stephen James Associates, has been appointed chair of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Emerging Business Council.
The newly-formed Emerging Business Council serves as a voice for small business by studying and developing positions pertaining to issues affecting emerging businesses in the Baltimore region.
Pisano has more than 10 years experience in career recruitment. Prior to joining Stephen James Associates in March 2006, he spent nine years with Spherion Professional Recruiting. While at Spherion, Pisano developed the Information Technology practice for the mid-Atlantic region, providing both staffing and permanent recruitment services to emerging and Fortune 500 companies. With a footprint firmly placed in the Baltimore/metropolitan area, Pisano has built a solid reputation in providing quality service at various levels to clients both large and small.
”Pisano will provide a unique perspective and will be a key component to the success and growth of this new council,” said GBC president and CEO Donald C. Fry. “His insight and experience with small businesses will be beneficial in helping to address key policy and operational issues that relate to the ability of emerging companies to succeed and grow.”
The Emerging Business Council is open to all GBC members. Recommended council members are companies that have fewer than 50 employees or have been in business fewer than five years.
