Steve Manekin becomes Equal Justice Council member

Steven Manekin, CPA and director in the Audit, Accounting, and Consulting Department at Ellin & Tucker, Chartered recently became a member of the Equal Justice Council of Maryland.

The council was formed in 1997 by Maryland private bar attorneys and is the fundraising arm of Maryland Legal Aid. Its goal is to promote equal access to justice by increasing and diversifying Legal Aid’s resources and serving as advocates and ambassadors in educating the public about Legal Aid’s programs. Members also work to increase pro bono involvement and participate in fundraising activities.

Manekin is the chairperson of Ellin & Tucker’s Law Firm Services Group and specializes in assisting law firms ranging from sole practitioner to 200-lawyer firms in meeting their accounting, tax, business and consulting needs. Manekin is past-President of the Law Firm Services Association and has written many articles appearing in legal-related and local business publications. He has also been a featured speaker for the American Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Law Firm Services Association and The Association of Legal Administrators, as well as local bar associations.

Manekin has also been named a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager in the Tax Advisor category by Baltimore Magazine for the past three years.
