Susan Keller joins Ellin & Tucker, Chartered; Carl Kampel named to J-Ref Board of Directors

Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, a leading regional certified public accounting and business consulting firm, announced Susan Keller has joined the firm’s Tax Department.

Prior to joining Ellin & Tucker, Keller was a Tax Director with RSM McGladrey, Inc. in Baltimore with responsibilities which included spearheading the exempt organization tax group in that office, while also maintaining numerous high net worth individual accounts. She began her accounting career in the New York City office of KPMG.

Keller holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from James Madison University and currently resides in Abingdon, Md.

Carl Kempel is named to J-Ref Board of Directors
Carl Kampel, CPA and Director in Charge of Professional Standards at Ellin & Tucker, Chartered, was recently named to the Board of Directors of j-ref. j-ref is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in Howard County, Md. Since its founding in 1992, j-ref has provided more than $5 million in loans to 60 businesses and helped to create almost 500 new jobs in Howard County.

As Director in Charge of Professional Standards at Ellin & Tucker, Kampel advises clients on financial reporting for complex transactions and represents the firm before financial reporting standard-setting organizations. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and the Financial Accounting Standards Board Emerging Issues Task Force and is a past Vice Chairman of the AICPA Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC). Kampel currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Chapter of Financial Executives International and Co-Chair of the Baltimore Chapter of the Financial Executives Networking Group.

Kampel resides in Columbia, Md.
