Owings Mills-based catering company The Classic Catering People has formed a new program with United Way of Central Maryland called Classic Cares. The initiative helps provide people living in the Morrell Park community with access to healthy foods.
A survey conducted by Access Art in southwest Baltimore found 25% of respondents had minimal or no access to healthy food on a regular basis and nearly 50% of respondents identified local access to healthy food as their biggest need.
Classic Catering is offering dinner packages for two, three or four people for $120. This will also pay for six donated meals for Morrell Park residents. Dinner options include dishes such as Maryland crab cakes, braised short ribs, glazed salmon, fried chicken, vegan miso glazed eggplant and a Southwestern meal with pulled chipotle chicken.
