Venable LLP welcomes Dana Petersen Moore

Dana Petersen Moore joined Venable LLP in June 2008. While her practice is based in the Baltimore, Md. and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas, she represents clients across the United States. Moore represents companies and insurers from a wide range of industries in the avoidance, resolution and litigation of commercial, product liability and personal injury disputes.

Moore continues representation of Fortune 500 corporations as well as local corporations and organizations. Over the last two decades, Moore’s clients have received the benefit of the full range of her experience litigating complex and high-stakes disputes including mediation, resolution of disputes short of trial and all aspects of trial. In-house counsel rely on her expertise and counsel.

Moore has served as advisor to senior in-house counsel at Fortune 500 companies as well as executives in government, industry and higher-education. Moore’s clients call on her for her expertise in serving as lead counsel in the trial of mass tort and multi-district litigation, the discovery of electronically stored information, ethics and business practices and other matters important to industry and government.

Prior to joining Venable, Moore served as lead trial counsel litigating product liability matters arising out of commercial claims. She also defended a large municipality and its Housing Authority in a civil rights case arising out of alleged fair housing violations affecting the rights of the more than 9,000 residents of the municipality’s public housing units and voucher system. Ms. Moore has advised and represented Baltimore City mayors since 1995.

Moore serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for Baltimore City under appointment by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. She previously served on the Maryland Appellate Nominating Commission, also under appointment by Governor Martin O’Malley.

Moore currently serves as a member of the Bates College Board of Trustees, Chair of the Baltimore City Board of Ethics and Chair of “The Leadership”, a program of the Greater Baltimore Committee.

Moore is a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the National Bar Association.
