WHERE turns 75

Where, the most trusted name in visitor publications available at concierge desks and hotel rooms worldwide, marks its 75th anniversary in 2011. The year-long celebration kicks off in January, when Where magazines around the globe unveil a special anniversary cover showcasing Where magazine covers from the past 75 years, plus special editorial features curated by our local editors.

Local events will be accompanied by national contests offering trips to Where cities across the U.S. Readers who sign up for e-newsletters on WhereTraveler.com will be eligible for vacation prize packages for four to Orlando, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York and Oahu.

“We are excited to reach this significant milestone,” said William S. Morris III, chairman and CEO of Morris Communications, parent company of the Where brand. “In these economic times, it is no small feat to build a thriving global brand -we are proud that Where® has remained strong for 75 years and counting. We look forward to celebrating in 2011 and taking Where® further into the 21st century with cutting-edge content and technology.”

Throughout the year, Where editors will showcase the best ways to see their respective cities in 75 minutes or 75 hours and present historical vignettes that take a look at life in the city 75 years ago. Where is also partnering with national retailers to offer exciting giveaways and exclusive Where branded products.

To opt in for a chance to win an exclusive getaway for four to a Where city, visit their Web site  or Facebook page. Click on the 75th Anniversary logo at the top right of the Web page to sign for the eNewsletter for your desired cities, which enables you to enter the sweepstakes once each day until the winner is selected.

A contest winner will be chosen every other month for a different winning destination. First up was a trip for four to Orlando, followed by a trip for four to Miami, with an April entry deadline.
