Whiteford, Taylor & Preston announces new hires, new partners

Peter J. Davis has joined the firm’s Technology and Intellectual Property group as a partner. Mr. Davis joins the firm from Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner and had practiced for ten years. He started his patent career as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and then spent nine years with Fulbright & Jaworski before joining Morrison & Foerster.

Eric C. Nastasi has joined the firm’s corporate practice in Washington, D.C., as Counsel. Prior to coming to Whiteford, Eric was Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Bitek International, Inc., where he was responsible for running the day-to-day activities of the company, including legal, technical development, sales, marketing, and finance. Previously, he had practiced as a corporate transactions attorney at a Washington law firm, where he specialized in advising technology sector companies.

Additionally, Thomas J. Francella, Jr., Eileen Morgan Johnson, and Dennis M. Robinson, Jr. have been named partners of the firm, effective as of January 1, 2011. Mr. Francella is a bankruptcy litigator, based in the firm’s Wilmington office. Ms. Johnson is co-chair of the firm’s Nonprofit Organizations group and is based in the firm’s Falls Church office. Mr. Robinson is a business litigator, based in the firm’s Baltimore office.
