Womble Carlyle launches wealth management practice group

Multidisciplinary team to address wealth management industry’s full range of legal and regulatory needs

The generational transfer of wealth is a trillion-dollar annual industry in the U.S. and as such, wealth management services are heavily regulated.

With that in mind, Womble Carlyle has launched a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary Wealth Management Practice Group to guide wealth management professionals in complying with regulatory guidelines, overcoming legal obstacles and maximizing outcomes on behalf of their clients.

Firm clients include wealth management advisors and trust departments in commercial banks, mutual funds, private equity firms, boutique investment firms and regulatory/compliance consultants.

Team members include attorneys with backgrounds in trusts and estates, fiduciary litigation, private fund management, fund formation, securities regulation compliance and securities filings, corporate transactions, intellectual property, privacy/data security, employment law, environmental issues and Impact Economy investing.

In addition, the team is working closely with Bond Dickinson’s Private Wealth Practice and its separate subsidiary, BD Wealth Management, to provide clients with creative legal and tax solutions in the U.K. as well as the U.S.

“Womble Carlyle has long served wealth management service providers. Now, we are bundling all of our services to this industry in order to maximize the benefits we can offer these clients,” said David Hamilton, Managing Partner of Womble Carlyle’s Baltimore office and the leader of the Wealth Management Practice Group.
