Worthington Green wins 2009 Home Builders Association Award

The Land Development Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland recently awarded Worthington Green, a MacKenzie Communities development, the 2009 Award of Excellence in Community Development. The esteemed award recognizes development professionals who create superior and creative developments that are sensitive to the community and the environment and make appropriate use of existing natural elements.

Worthington Green has quickly become the finest custom home community in Baltimore County. Located in the prestigious Worthington Valley, this 42-lot subdivision offers extraordinary views, a private setting, and the highest architectural standards enabling the community to flourish and maintain its value even during the economic slowdown.

Developed on the site of the former Worthington Valley Country Club, the 100-acre community includes a nearly 40-acre conservancy with farm ponds, rolling hills, and mature forests and panoramic vistas from each estate home site.

The community currently features 13 homes designed and constructed by the area’s elite custom homebuilders. Every home undergoes strict architectural review to ensure continuity of quality and design.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Maryland Home Builders Association,” said Andy Poffel, president of MacKenzie Communities, LLC. “We strive to design unique and beautiful communities that best coexist with the land and enhance the community at large.”

MacKenzie Communities, LLC, founded in 1968, specializes in developing award-winning residential communities in Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania. To date, MacKenzie has developed and delivered more than 2,500 home sites to some of the country’s top homebuilders, including Toll Brothers, Inc., NV
