GBC Welcomes New Chief Economic Officer Pothik Chatterjee to Lead the Organization’s Efforts Around Regional Investment

(Baltimore, Md.) – The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Pothik Chatterjee as its first-ever chief economic officer. Chatterjee brings a diverse portfolio of economic and operational leadership to the organization that will bolster the committee’s ability to provide a leading voice in the Baltimore region on equitable economic growth and civic issues.

As chief economic officer, Chatterjee will lead the organization’s economic development initiatives, including shaping the GBC’s efforts to accelerate economic opportunity for the Greater Baltimore region and pursue competitive opportunities that advance innovation and business investment within the region. The GBC has an open RFP for a firm to develop a regional economic opportunity plan and will announce the selection at the annual meeting on Thursday, May 25th.

 

Drawing from almost 15 years of experience working in leadership positions, Chatterjee will provide valuable insight in leading the GBC’s strategic and economic initiatives. Chatterjee joins the GBC from LifeBridge Health, where he served most recently as Assistant Vice President for Innovation & Operations Support. Prior to LifeBridge Health, he served as the Director of Business Development & Strategic Operations for Brigham Physicians Organization in Boston. Other distinguished companies Chatterjee has worked with include Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Bank of Canada and Northleaf Capital Partners.

 

Chatterjee earned his MBA in Business Administration and Management from Harvard University, an MA in Energy Policy and Finance from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a BS in internal economics from Georgetown University and an International Baccalaureate Diploma in economics, mathematics and English from Jakarta International School. Chatterjee has been recognized as one of Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees. He is also a recipient of the “Best in Tech” award from the Baltimore Business Journal among other awards in the Baltimore tech and entrepreneurship community.
