Greater Baltimore Committee Activates Business Leadership Across Key Economic Priority Areas

In the final year of its multi-year agenda, the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is activating business leadership across its core organizational priorities.

In the final year of its multi-year agenda, the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is activating business leadership across its core organizational priorities, including economic leadership, infrastructure and transportation, and collective impact, as regional work moves from planning to execution.

Across 12 priority areas, GBC is mobilizing experienced leaders from across the private, nonprofit, and institutional sectors to guide strategy and advance progress through its standing committees. This broad engagement reflects a deliberate focus on collaboration, accountability, and delivery as the organization advances work that no single jurisdiction or institution can move alone.

“We’re grateful for the business leaders who are working in close partnership with the GBC team to strengthen economic leadership for our market,” said Mark Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of GBC. “We’re entering a critical period where partnership matters most. How we show up together will determine our ability to seize the opportunities ahead and drive momentum across the Baltimore Region.”

As part of this momentum, the GBC Board, chaired by Mohan Suntha, President and CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System, has extended Thomas’s tenure for another five years, reinforcing long-term continuity and confidence in the organization’s direction at a pivotal moment for the Baltimore Region.
