Organization announces new categories and themes for program aligned with 10-year strategy
(Baltimore, Md.) – The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) and the Baltimore Development Corporation have opened nominations for the 2023 Mayor’s Business Recognition Award, which honors organizations with an active presence in the six-county Baltimore region that have demonstrated significant leadership and service to improve the quality of life in Baltimore.
To better align with its recently announced multi-year agenda aimed at propelling the Greater Baltimore Region toward a thriving future of inclusive growth and economic opportunity, the GBC has revamped the annual awards program to highlight companies and organizations that fall within five new awards categories.
“This recognition has always sought to inspire leaders across the City of Baltimore to continue innovating ways to support their communities and help our city achieve its full potential,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “Collectively, we can address Baltimore’s most pressing challenges, create opportunities for growth, and continue to strengthen our connections to one another. I am incredibly excited to see this year’s nominations and look forward to celebrating the work that so many Baltimore businesses are doing to support residents across our city every single day.”
“The region’s major employers, philanthropic and nonprofit organizations are deeply invested in creating meaningful progress and partnerships to accelerate communities in need and catalyze a brighter path ahead,” said GBC President and CEO Mark Anthony Thomas. “The ceremony will recognize those at the cutting edge and leading the transformative change that will inspire greater action and investment in Baltimore.”
