Immersive "Living Museum" Experience to Highlight GBC’s Legacy and Future Vision for Baltimore
Baltimore, MD – The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) will host its 70th Annual Meeting on September 12, 2025, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. This year’s theme, “A Legacy of Leadership,” celebrates seven decades of continuous civic leadership and highlights GBC’s enduring role in advancing the Baltimore region’s economy and quality of life.
To celebrate the milestone, the annual meeting will feature an interactive “living museum” experience, bringing to life GBC’s evolution from the 1950s to the present day. Attendees will explore immersive exhibits chronicling major projects, civic milestones, and regional developments shaped by the GBC over the past 70 years. Virtual reality activations and tech-enabled displays will also offer a glimpse into Baltimore’s future, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to innovation and progress, while a commemorative video will reflect on the region’s collective progress. Guests will also be invited to contribute personal reflections and civic aspirations to a time capsule, designed to be opened at the organization’s 100th annual meeting in 2055.
“For 70 years, the Greater Baltimore Committee has been a catalyst for progress, convening leaders to tackle the region’s most pressing challenges and championing solutions that drive growth,” said Mark Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee. “As we celebrate this legacy, we’re also looking forward—to the next 70 years of opportunity, collaboration, and impact in Greater Baltimore.”
The Annual Meeting will bring together more than 750 business, civic, and community leaders, including multiple generations of Baltimore leadership. The program will feature remarks from Maryland Governor Wes Moore, GBC Board Chair Dr. Mohan Suntha, and GBC President and CEO Mark Anthony Thomas.
“In 1955, 83 business leaders came together with a simple but powerful idea: that the private sector must help drive solutions to the region’s greatest challenges. That spirit of action and forward thinking has remained constant to this day. As we mark 70 years of progress, this year’s GBC Annual Meeting is a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come and to honor the leaders who continue to show us the way forward.”
