Chris Bunner is Director of Data Systems at the Greater Baltimore Committee, where he leads the organization’s Salesforce implementation and manages the data infrastructure that supports effective operations and decision-making. His work sits at the intersection of systems design, data quality, and organizational efficiency, ensuring that GBC’s tools and workflows help the team operate with coordination and confidence.

In his role at GBC, Bunner helps build the data structure and processes that make it easier for the organization to track priorities, manage relationships, and translate information into action. He has also played a key role in developing UpSurge Baltimore’s company database, supporting the tracking of innovation-focused companies and ecosystem contacts across the region. His work has helped strengthen the data backbone behind GBC’s efforts in the Baltimore innovation ecosystem.

Bunner produced the 2024 Baltimore Innovation Ecosystem Report and continues to turn complex data into actionable insights through analysis, visualization, and database management. His background includes CRM implementation and optimization, scalable database architecture, and data systems design that supports both strategic planning and day-to-day execution.

Before entering Baltimore’s innovation ecosystem, Bunner came to the city through the Venture for America fellowship after studying business and economics at Boston College. He believes data is one of the most powerful tools in organizational life when used well, and that the best systems make accuracy the path of least resistance. He also serves on the committee for Moveable Feast and has contributed to ecosystem conversations as a speaker and interviewer, including at the 2024 EcoMap SuperConnect Conference and in BioBuzz.
