Lisa Byrd is Director of Events and Business Development at the Greater Baltimore Committee, where she leads the strategic planning and execution of high-impact events that engage members, elevate GBC’s visibility, and advance the organization’s mission. With nearly a decade at GBC and more than 15 years of experience across higher education, hospitality, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, she brings a strong track record of delivering seamless, mission-aligned experiences that strengthen member value and organizational growth.
In her role, Byrd oversees major milestone events that showcase GBC’s convening power and create meaningful opportunities for business and civic leaders to connect, learn, and collaborate. She works closely with internal teams to provide structure, coordination, and executional support, ensuring that events are well-planned, well-attended, and aligned with the organization’s broader priorities. She also collaborates with the Partnerships Team on member engagement initiatives and helps identify opportunities that expand GBC’s reach and support business development efforts.
Byrd serves as staff liaison for the Baltimore Women and Allies Board, helping support strategic alignment, program development, and board engagement. Her work extends beyond event production to include cross-functional efforts that improve processes, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and create opportunities for organizational growth. She is known for bringing a solutions-oriented mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a results-driven approach to every initiative she leads.
Before joining GBC, Byrd built deep expertise in event operations and organizational leadership, including roles that required scaling operations, leading high-performing teams, and managing complex logistics for audiences ranging from intimate gatherings to events with more than 45,000 attendees. Her career reflects a consistent commitment to excellence, partnership, and creating experiences that elevate both people and organizations.
