Whit Johnson is Director of Partnerships at the Greater Baltimore Committee, where he leads the organization’s partnership strategy, drives revenue growth, and cultivates executive-level relationships across the Baltimore Region. He works to expand a network of business, civic, and institutional leaders aligned around regional priorities, helping position GBC as the central table-setter for coordinated economic growth.
In this role, Johnson designs and manages high-impact engagement platforms—including convenings, steering committees, executive briefings, and issue-based forums—that connect partners to GBC’s core initiatives and multi-year agenda. He plays a central role in ensuring that partnership revenue aligns with regional economic priorities, that partners are active participants in shaping outcomes, and that GBC maintains its position as a trusted convening authority for the region.
Johnson has helped lead partner engagement across a range of major GBC efforts, including the development of the All In | 2035 plan, BLocal, BWI Air Services Advisory work, vacant housing initiatives, and regional branding efforts. He has also co-led Bold Moves Baltimore Region brand engagement workshops, supported the design of executive roundtables on the economic impact of horseracing and the redevelopment of Pimlico, and activated steering committees tied to transportation infrastructure, public safety, regional branding, and economic opportunity.
Before joining GBC, Johnson served as Associate Director of Civic Engagement at Johns Hopkins University, where he led university-wide community engagement programs and the Hopkins Votes campaign, strengthening civic participation across campuses. Earlier, he held leadership roles at UNICEF USA, directing national community engagement efforts and managing the Global Citizenship Fellowship. He began his career in education and international service with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua and Panama.
Johnson holds a Master of Science in Public and Urban Policy from The New School and a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies from Wheaton College. He is fluent in Spanish and brings a career-long commitment to inclusive economic growth through cross-sector collaboration and civic leadership.
