Some of the most important defense innovation in the county is happening right here in our region, and it’s time we talked about it.
UpSurge Baltimore & GBC are bringing together the people building the future of defense and national security on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, for an evening of conversation, connection, and collaboration at the CONVERGE Innovation Center. CONVERGE helps startups bring biomanufacturing technologies developed at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) to market and trains the workforce that will power them, which makes it the right place to start this conversation.
The evening will focus on the breakthrough work coming out of APG, the unique challenges defense-sector companies face, where the region’s biggest opportunities lie, and how our entrepreneurial ecosystem can step up to support the companies working in this space.
You’ll be in the room with innovators, technologists, workforce development experts, elected officials, Department of War officials, and the anchor institutions shaping the region’s defense and national security future. Together, we’ll build the partnerships and shared commitment that will position the Greater Baltimore Region to lead in this field.
