The summer heat might’ve slowed your body down, but it’s done nothing to the steady clip of meetups where entrepreneurs, funders, developers, engineers, students, and more of our ecosystem’s driving players make their work happen.

In Baltimore and its surrounding counties, these tech-focused meetups — often organized by volunteers who give their time for the love of building something awesome — are where a lot of the most exciting activity actually takes place. Someone shares what they’re developing, and a few months later, it can become a new platform or even a venture to back. These communities have quietly become some of the region’s landing pads for early-stage founders, and this iteration of our Ecosystem Linkup puts some of their organizers on stage to discuss how they built spaces that work for anyone curious about tech — not just people who can code.

Join us at Towson University’s StarTUp at the Armory space for a panel conversation with Valentine Okundaye (Code & Coffee), Cornelius Hairston (Baltimore Tech Meetup), and Khalif Cooper (Soulhause Events), as well as other potential meetup leaders TBD. Founder Daniel Kai of Palava Hut will moderate. Afterwards, stick around to network with founders, meetup regulars, and the organizations that support them over light refreshments.
